To all who are spiritually weary and seek rest;

to all who mourn and long for comfort;

to all who struggle and desire victory;

to all who sin and need a Savior;

to all who are strangers and want fellowship;

to all who hunger and thirst after righteousness;

and to whoever will come—

this church opens wide her doors

and offers her welcome in the name

of the Lord Jesus Christ.

A special thanks to the Social Committee for preparing the Fellowship Hall and making arrangements for our Homecoming Lunch last Sunday. We recognize that it requires many hours of work and an extra effort to prepare for and serve as many as were present last Sunday.

The 2007-2008 Church Directories are available for distribution. They are located on the shelves on each side of the sanctuary. We encourage each church family and those who attend our worship services regularly to take a copy for ready reference.

Each Sunday an infant and Preschool Nursery will be provided during the morning worship service. Children’s Church will also meet each Sunday, but will leave the worship service before the sermon begins. The children are asked to sit with their parents at the beginning of the worship service and will leave with the Children’s Church volunteer from the piano side during the Offertory music.

The Men’s Brotherhood will sponsor “Trunk or Treat” again this year. It is scheduled following Prayer Service on Wednesday, October 31. Those adults who will participate should park their car in the South parking lot as in past years. We invite all adults to participate and, as well, all children of our church and community. The purpose of “Trunk or Treat” is to provide a safe environment and Christian influence in and effort to change a culture area which has emphasized evil spirits and mysticism. “Trunk or Treat” is an effort to provide a healthier attitude in a social setting.

The church is compiling a list of those who have served in the military. If you have not done so, previously, please write the following information on one of the “scratch sheets” and place it in the offering plate when it comes by:

Rank, Name, Branch of Service, Dates of Service and Places Where Served.

The Systematic Theology class will not meet on Wednesday evening.

From Our Pastor:

Genesis Part I, Titus, and Genesis Part II

  Our study of Genesis this past year has been one the most enjoyable series of sermons that I have ever preached.  I have thoroughly enjoyed every verse of every chapter.  The most significant thing that I have learned is that Christ is present and pointed to throughout the entire story.  Genesis has fifty chapters and we are going to take a break right in the middle of it at chapter 25.  So what will we be doing on Sunday mornings?  We will be looking at Paul’s letter to Titus.  I look this letter and look forward to sharing it with you each week for a few months.  Then we will return to Genesis to study the stories of Isaac, Jacob and Joseph.  I hope that have been as blessed by God through Genesis as I have and that His blessing will continue on the preaching and the hearing of His Word.
